Introducing: Dr. Humphrey Hayward A. Bogart

Professor Humphrey Hayward Applesauce Bogart.

We named him after Humphrey Bogart, after his tuxedo coat.
Don't you see the resemblance??

We found him at the Humane Society yesterday, and we fell in love. We don't know if we're going to be able to keep him because of my allergies, and also our cat Willi is a bully, and Humphrey is just so skittish and hides almost all the time because of that.

Supposedly he was quite the sorry case when he was brought to the Humane Society in March.
He's five, but he's smaller and skinnier than Willi (who isn't even fully grown yet.), and he had fleas, missing fur, and the tip of his tongue. Now he is healthy and ready for lovin.
I hope we can keep him!

Sometimes little girls turn seven.

And I embroider little singing birds into handmade shirts for them.

Playdates.

Our friends Stephen and Colleen live about two blocks from us. They moved to Madison from Portland, OR around the time I moved from Pennsylvania.
We get along really well, and luckily, so do our cats! Sometimes they even kiss!!

Here is Willi and her best friend, Emerson...
On a playdate.

The cute factor is through the roof, I tell ya!!

May House Show

May's house show was full of cool rockin madre's, and although the cool rockin daddies were present, the women dominated.
It was a super sweet evening!

How to cut a mango.

Mango's and avacado's are a pain in the butt to cut. But let's face it, they're worth it.
Getting to the yum can be hard, but it doesn't have to be!

How to cut a Mango.

  1. Cut the Avacado down along where the flat side of the stone (pit) is located. (You will know because the flat side is widest.)

2. Repeat on other flat side of stone.

3. Cut the fruit off the remaining sides of the stone.

4. Cut slashes into the fruit, and pop out your cubes of mango.

Yum!

Jason's art opening.

Jason had his first art opening since moving to Wisconsin a few Friday's ago. We drove to Milwaukee and all of our lovely friends from Madison did as well!
His artwork looked beautiful. I'm so very proud of him!

Rhubarb From Jean.

Jean is our chatty neighbor whom we split our backyard with. She is a cute, older woman, who loves to garden, and she often teaches me tricks on how to make my garden more fruitful.
She is also a retired Nun, which I think is really sweet.
She even has a wedding ring to God.

Anyway, today she gave me some Rhubarb, and I got so excited I had to blog about it!
It's going in the freezer until the strawberries are ripe!
(Now that's for another post!)

I call these my Rhubarb-erine Claws.

Get it? ....Like Wolverine Claws?
eh? eh?

A little sneak peak!

Another reason why I haven't been able to blog lately about my creative life would be that I am finishing up my album. (Which will be released on June 3rd, on my 24th birthday!)

I've been working on this album consciously for about a year and a half, but there are songs on it that I've been working on since I taught myself to play guitar five years ago.
It's a long time coming.
I just want to thank everyone for being so patient.
And I thought I would do so by posting a recent collaboration that I've done with New South Bear.

Thanks for still checking up on me!
I love you!

Why I've been absent.

I just wanted to update everyone on the new things that have happened almost seemingly in the past week (which explain why I have dropped off the face of the planet.)

  • It's finals week of my first semester in Grad School, and still working fulltime. (Someone please remind me why I'm doing this to myself??)
  • I'm switching jobs in a week and a half.
  • Jason is having major car troubles.
  • Also:
  • AND, I'm throwing myself a killer 24th birthday party...Pennsylvania style.
I hope someone dresses up as Questlove.
I think I'm going to be Mr. Rodgers.

First Guest Blog!

A few weeks ago Meg from OMG!MegG! asked me to do a guest blog while she takes a week long break from the internet (a difficult decision for an avid blogger!)
This was my first guest blog, so I wasn't sure what to do. After a lot of thinking, I decided that I would try to inspire others to DO!
Do It Yourself, that is.

Check it!!

Album Art!

Oh hey, it's me.
I'm sorry I haven't been blogging much these days. I haven't had much creative time lately. AND when I actually get the chance to be artsy fartsy, I'm working on my album (since it's my top spring goal.)

Anyway, I just wanted to share a little sneak peak of this brand spankin' new album art with you.

Don't worry, after over a year, the wait is almost over.
Your patience alone is song worthy!
